Poeti grek i shekullit te 16 Tzanes Koronaios, ne poemen e tij Ελληνικα Ανεκδοτα, ne vargjet kushtuar stradioteve shqiptare te komanduar nga gjenerali Merkur Bua(1478 – 1542) tregon momentin kur Merkur Bua u zgjodh general, nga MAQEDONASIT e tij:

Historiani humanist nga Venediku Marcus Antonius Coccius Sabellicus (1436–1506) ne vitin 1498 botoi nje komentar per veprat e klasikeve te antikitetit. Ne nje vend, ai e quan te nevojshme te bej nje digresion sqarues per te tashmen e tij, dhe thote, mes te tjerash, edhe keto:
Amurathes Mahomethis pater bello abstulit: Thessalonice Macedoniae & Dardanorum hodie caput Scopia, circa Dyrrachium, quae olim Macedonia suit: Albania nunc est, abiis qui ex Albanis
Pra, viset qe nga Shkupi deri ne Durres po i cileson si Shqiperi. Nese eshte i sakte interpretimi im, dhe perkthimi, atehere kjo evidence eshte e rendesishme sepse provon qe terthoret kufitare te Arberise se shekullit te pesembedhjete ishin deri n'Shkup.
Ne sot po hedhim faren me emrin Bashkim,
Qe neser te korrim frutin me emrin Bashkim!
