Ndahet jeta ne moshen 71 vjecare legjenda e futbollit shqiptar, Panajot Pano.
Pano, nderroi jete ne Shtetet e Bashkuara te Amerikes per shkak te nje infarkti.
Ish-sulmuesi qe do te behej i famshem tek Partizani, lindi ne 7 mars te vitit 1939 ne qytetin e Durresit dhe e nisi rrugetimin e gjate futbollistik si portier tek Tirana.
Gjate karrieres se tij 18 vjecare si futbollist, Panajot Pano ka luajtur 24 ndeshje ne kombetaren e Shqiperise. Me fanelen e Partizanit ai fitoi 4 kampionate dhe 5 kupa. Ne ceremonine e zhvilluar ne vitin 2003, ai mori cmimin “Golden Player of Albania” nga Federata Shqiptare e Futbollit.
Gjithashtu, ne mars te vitit 2009, Panajot Pano u nderua me cmimin “Nderi i Kombit” nga Presidenti i Republikes, Bamir Topi.

Keto jane epitetet e komentatoreve radiofonike te kohes qe kane mbetur ne kujtesen e sportdashesve shqiptare per ish futbollistin e famshem te Partizanit dhe Kombetares, Panajot Pano. I lindur ne qytetin e Durresit ne 1939-en, i zbuluar per dhuntine dhe talentin e tij ne fushen e blerte nga Xhavit Demneri, Panajot Pano ne kete bilance te lojes se tij neper stadiume shenon kater here kampion i Shqiperise nga viti `61 deri ne `64-en dhe pese here fitues i Kupes se Shqiperise me skuadrat e kryeqytetit. Ne ndeshjet nderkombetare eshte autor i gati 100 golave, por me shume shenohen ne karrieren e tij te gjate futbollistike neper kampionatet shqiptare.
Ne 18 vitet e karrieres ai ka mundur te shenoje 500 gola, per t’u larguar nga fusha ne vitin 1975 por me syte dhe zemren gjithmone tek ajo. “Pushkash i vogel”, do te etiketohej sulmuesi i Partizanit dhe Kombetares. Por ajo qe e ben te madh emrin e tij dhe te Kombetares Shqiptare kane qene perballjet ne fushe me perfaqesuesen e ish Republikes Federale te Gjermanise.
Franc Bekenbauer, legjenda e futbollit gjerman do te shprehej pas sfidave ne “Qemal Stafa” ne Tirane, pak para terheqjes se tij nga fusha per Panajot Panon: “Nese Panajot Pano ndoshta nuk do te me kujtoje me, une e kam parasysh ate gjithmone”. Ai u shua pak dite me pare ne Shtetet e Bashkuara te Amerikes, ne menyre te befte, nga nje infarkt ne zemer.
I cilesuar si futbollisti me i mire shqiptar i shekullit te 20-te, ai mbylli syte me pengun e madh, qe nuk arriti te luante me perfaqesuesen shqiptare ne kampionatet europiane apo boterore. “Mjeshtri i Merituar i Sportit” Panajot Pano mbetet sportisti me popullor ne Shqiperi. Nje emer e bejne te madh gjurmet dhe jo koha kur jeton.
