Ne shpjegimin per fjalorin e Hesychut ka nje koment te tille:
Hesychius is important, not only for Greek philology but also for studying lost languages and obscure dialects (such as Thracian and the ancient Macedonian language) and in reconstructing Proto-Indo-European.
Eshte shume interesant se kopje te ketij fjalori, mungojne teresisht, megjithese ai si doreshkrim i perket vetem shekullit te 15-te. , Hesychu ne parathenie thote qe: " Fjalet e komentuara jane nga gjuha e asaj pjese te Botes(studjuesit mendojne trakia apo Maqedonia)" dhe nga ajo qe di une per te, fjalet bashke me komentet :
The work, titled "Alphabetical Collection of All Words" (Συναγωγή Πασών Λέξεων κατά Στοιχείον), includes approximately 51,000 entries, a copious list of peculiar words, forms and phrases, with an explanation of their meaning, and often with a reference
por ato sic duket dhe nga shembujt me siper nuk ngjajne fare me ""greqishten"". Mjafton te marresh disa shembuj me siper dhe ato jane pothuajse identike me fjalet shqipe:

qe mund te kene shpjegime te drejteperdrejta shqip, ose kuptime te prejardhura, sic vume ne dukje me siper, ose fjale shume te vjetra shqip qe kane ndryshuar ose eliminuar.
