Ia çfare thote per voskopojen Eulog Kurilla, kryepeshkop nga hoçishti i Devollit dhe profesor ne universitetin e Athines:
"Sipas tij voskopja, e themeluar fillimisht nga shqiptaret dhe me tej e banuar nga popullsi shqiptare vllehe, konsiderohet si vendi ku u ngjiz ideja e bashkimit shqiptar dhe shkrimi i gjuhes shqipe, vendi ku shqipja zuri mish e kocka"

Por ky pohim, si dhe ide te tjera te shprehuara ne veprat e tij, i kushtuan Kurilles nje linçim te vertet akademik e moral. Ne dissa mbledhe te Senatit Akademik te Universitetit te Athines, organizuar ne muajt nentor_dhjetor 1942, Kurilla u akuzua si "albanist", "nacionalist shqiptar" e "trradhetar", qe e kishte kthyer katedren e historise se Universitetit te Athines ne "nje kateder antikombetare". Ne menyre te veçante, historiani S. Kugea e akuzonte me ate rast Kurillen: qe ky paskesh deklaruar diku qe "epiri ne gjuhen shkencore me te drejt quhet Shqiperi e jugut", ndaj dhe perdorte shpehjet "Shqiperi e jugut" dhe "Shqipetare te jugut" ne vend te shprehjeve "epir" dhe "epirote".
Voskopojen, qe sipas Kugeas ishte vater e shkolles greke, Kurilla e quante qender te qyteterimit shqiptar; Kurilla pohonte gjithashtu se Voskopoja ishteshqiptare, se familjet Bua e Sina ishin shqiptare, se vete Danil Voskopojari ishte shqiptar dhe se ne Voskopoje nuk kishte greke; fliste per "gadishull ilirik" kur, sipas Kugeas, duhej folur per "gadishull greke" ose te pakten "gadishull ballkanik"; quante shqiptare personalitetet e njohura si Jan Kukuzelin, familjen Gjika te Rumanise, Grigor Gjirokastritin, bamiresin Banga, Suliotet.
