Kur àgu i ri kishte ndjekur tutje
Yjet fluturues, dhe drita kish kthyer ditën,
Enea u bëri zë trupave trojane përreth,
Dhe kështu u foli atyre nga një çukë:
"Pjellë e Dritës, racë Hyjnore Dardane!
Dielli, rrotulluar nëpër hapësirën e kulluar,
Qarkun e ndritshëm të vitit ka mbushur,
Që kur së pari ky ishull hirin e tim ati mbajti,
Dhe tani dita e lindur përtërin vitin;
Një ditë përjetë e trishtuar, përjetë e shtrenjtë.

Vër re të riun që bie në sy së pari,
Dhe që zotëron vendin më pranë dritës,
Që tashmë, duket, se thith ajrin jetik,
Dhe, mëshon veçse përpara, mbi një shtizë të shndritshme:
Silviusi është ai, i linduri i racës tënde, i fundit,
Por i pari në radhë, i dërguar, për të plotësuar vendin tënd;
Një emër Alban, por së toku me gjak Dardan,
E lindi në zabelin e një pylli hijedendur:
Bardhoshja Lavinjë, Atë, e mbijetuara jot shoqe,
Do të rritet në korije, të bëjë një jetë të vetmuar.
Në Alba do e vendosë fronin e tij mbretëror,
Dhe, i linduri mbret, sjell racë mbretërish.
Pastaj Prokas, nderi i emrit trojan,
Kapis, dhe Numitori, i famës pafund.
Një Silvius i dytë pas tyre do shfaqet;
Silvius Enea, emrin tënd ai mban;
Për armët dhe drejtësinë njëlloj me famë,
I cili, i rivendosr më vonë, në Alba, do të kurorëzohet.

Now, when the following morn had chas'd away
The flying stars, and light restor'd the day,
Aeneas call'd the Trojan troops around,
And thus bespoke them from a rising ground:
"Offspring of heav'n, divine Dardanian race!
The sun, revolving thro' th' ethereal space,
The shining circle of the year has fill'd,
Since first this isle my father's ashes held:
And now the rising day renews the year;
A day for ever sad, for ever dear.
Postera cum primo stellas Oriente fugarat
clara dies, socios in coetum litore ab omni
aduocat Aeneas tumulique ex aggere fatur:
'Dardanidae magni, genus alto a sanguine diuum, 45
annuus exactis completur mensibus orbis,
ex quo reliquias diuinique ossa parentis
condidimus terra maestasque sacrauimus aras;
iamque dies, nisi fallor, adest, quem semper acerbum,
semper honoratum (sic di uoluistis) habebo.
BOOK VI
Observe the youth who first appears in sight,
And holds the nearest station to the light,
Already seems to snuff the vital air,
And leans just forward, on a shining spear:
Silvius is he, thy last-begotten race,
But first in order sent, to fill thy place;
An Alban name, but mix'd with Dardan blood,
Born in the covert of a shady wood:
Him fair Lavinia, thy surviving wife,
Shall breed in groves, to lead a solitary life.
In Alba he shall fix his royal seat,
And, born a king, a race of kings beget.
Then Procas, honor of the Trojan name,
Capys, and Numitor, of endless fame.
A second Silvius after these appears;
Silvius Aeneas, for thy name he bears;
For arms and justice equally renown'd,
Who, late restor'd, in Alba shall be crown'd.

conuentus trahit in medios turbamque sonantem,
et tumulum capit unde omnis longo ordine posset
aduersos legere et uenientum discere uultus. 755
'Nunc age, Dardaniam prolem quae deinde sequatur
