Ne legjenden e formimit te qytetit etrusk Viterbo ne Itali,jo shume larg ne veri te Romes, qendrojne tetrapolis(kater qytete), dhe njeri nga keto kater qytete,te cilet u bashkuan dhe formuan Viterbon ishte ARBANUM,ARBANO,ARBANA qe u quajt ashtu, sepse Herkuli ngriti nje keshtjelle ne ate vend .Ne varrezat e qytetit gjendet mbishkrimi me emrat e kater qyteteve themeluese.

Il creduto ArBanum Castello d'Ercole ove oggi esistono la Cattedrale , il Falàzzo' Episcopale ec. di'Viterbo, e tanti altri ruderi, che non si conosce quali denominazioni avessero* L'incredibile quantità di grotte Sepolcrali con angusti , e lunghissimi anditi , o cunicoli, le quali contengono sari cofaghi od urne di pietra, vasi più o meno pregevoli di terra con vernici , e pitture' ò senza, armi , ed armature , utensili , deschi grafiti, spècolij' metallici, iscrizioni di ca* ratteri etruschi ec. sono ulteriori dimostra-' astoni, che questo suolo1 fu E ero ria* -e noi dàlle tenebre archeologiche ci contentiamo di cavare , e presentare questa sola verità almen per ora.

Gjetja e emrit ARBANUM, ose ARBANA,ne nje zone qe sot quhet Toskana (ana e toskeve) eshte pak e ngaterruar sepse keto emra gjenden edhe ne Shqipei.Herkuli eshte ka qene edhe ne Durres,kush nuk do te shkoje atje ne vere.

A barbarian king of the region, Epidamnus by name, built a city on the sea-coast and named it after himself. Dyrrachus, the son of his daughter and of Neptune (as is supposed), added a dockyard to it which he named Dyrrachium. When the brothers of this Dyrrachus made war against him, Hercules, who was returning from Erythea, formed an alliance with him for a part of his territory; wherefore the Dyrrachians claim Hercules as their founder because he had a share of their land, not that they repudiate Dyrrachus, but because they pride themselves on Hercules even more as a god. In the battle which took place it is said that Hercules killed Ionius, the son of Dyrrachus, by mistake, and that after performing the funeral rites he threw the body into the sea in order that it might bear his name.2 At a later period the Briges, returning from Phrygia, took possession of the city and the surrounding country.114
